LOVE LIKE HAYA

Our Mission

Love Like Haya is a movement dedicated to raising awareness around teen mental health, building supportive communities, and creating safe spaces for open conversation.

We believe every young person deserves to feel heard, valued, and connected. Our goal is to break the stigma surrounding mental health, provide access to helpful resources, and encourage teens to support one another with empathy and understanding.

Through education, outreach, and community support, Love Like Haya works to spread awareness, build resilience, and remind teens that they are never alone.

Our Story

Love Like Haya was started by Northern Virginia high school students in September 2025 after our community lost a classmate to suicide. In that moment, we realized how urgently young people need spaces where they can speak honestly about mental health and be met with empathy, not judgment.

What began as a small group of friends has grown into a student led movement focused on education, outreach, and connection. We host conversations that reduce stigma, point teens toward helpful resources, and encourage everyday acts of care, checking in, listening, and asking for help when it’s needed. Love Like Haya exists to honor our friend, support our community, and ensure that no teen feels they have to struggle alone.

Why We Exist

Teen mental health challenges are rising at alarming rates, yet many young people still feel too afraid or ashamed to ask for help. Love Like Haya was created to change that reality. By raising awareness, starting honest conversations, and connecting teens with resources, we work to ensure that no one has to face their struggles alone.

Call To Action

At Love Like Haya, we believe that no teenager should ever feel alone in their struggles. But creating change takes all of us. By getting involved, you can help us break the stigma around mental health, provide resources to teens who need them most, and build communities of compassion and understanding. Whether you choose to volunteer your time, share your story, spread awareness, or contribute financially, your support makes a real difference. Together, we can create safe spaces for open conversations, remind young people of their worth, and build a future where every teen feels heard, valued, and supported.
